Superintendent Info
Allan Cameron has been the superintendent of Wrentham Public Schools since July 1, 2014. Prior to joining the Wrentham community, Dr. Cameron was the acting assistant superintendent of schools and principal of Deerfield School in Westwood, MA. He has teaching and leadership experience at many schools in Massachusetts and Connecticut, including Lawrence School in Brookline, MA; Long Lots School in Westport, CT; Coventry High School in Coventry, CT; East Haven High School in East Haven, CT; and Old Saybrook Middle School in Old Saybrook, CT.
Prior to his career in public education, Dr. Cameron served in the Army National Guard. He received an Honorable Discharge after serving as a light infantry platoon leader, combat medic, and TOW missile gunner. He realized he wanted to pursue a career in education while teaching at the Combat Lifesaver Course.
Dr. Cameron has B.A.s in English and Psychology from the University of Connecticut, M.A. in Elementary Education from Fairfield University, 6th Year Diploma in School Leadership from the University of Connecticut, and Ph.D. in Education Administration from Boston College. He received several awards including 2 Army Achievement Medals, 3 Army Reserve Component Achievement Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Physical Fitness Badge, Boston College Donald J. White Teaching Excellence Award, and the Milken Educator Award.
