General Information

This year’s Wrentham Summer Institute will run from 8:00 - 11:45 daily at the Roderick School.  On days of inclement weather, outdoor classes will be moved indoors.

Your child should be dropped at the back of Roderick School on Randall Road at 8:00 am each morning to meet the class instructor(s).  Pick up is promptly at 11:45 each day.  Your child’s instructor will accompany all students to the back of Roderick School for pick up.

Session Dates

Session 1: Monday, July 14 - Thursday, July 17

Session 2: Monday, July 21 - Thursday, July 24

Session 3: Monday, July 28 - Thursday, July 31

Session Fee

$120 per child, per session

Please pay by cash, check, or money order by June 1, 2025.

Payments are non-refundable.  Refunds are only given if a class is canceled by Summer Institute or for a documented medical reason. Refunds can take up to 4-6 weeks.

ONE CHECK PER CHILD, PER SESSION, payable to Wrentham Public Schools, written in blue or black ink. In the memo space, write the child's name & class.

Registration Information

When registering your child, please select the grade level your child will be entering in September 2025. You do not need to be a Wrentham resident to register!  

All registrations this year will be completed via Google Form.  Please fill out one Google Form (contains both registration and medical information) per child, per session.  

Full payment(s) should be sent in promptly after your registration(s). Spots will not be reserved without payment. 

Your payment will be deposited to the WPS Business Office once enough registrations have been received to run the class.

Please note: If your child does not currently attend Wrentham Public Schools, you are required to send a copy of your child's current physical form including immunizations from your child's doctor.

Class Confirmations

Your child’s class confirmation will be sent via email by early June. 

*PLEASE NOTE: A class could be canceled due to low enrollment.  

What to Wear/Bring

  • Nut-free snack 
  • Water bottle
  • Comfortable play clothes and sneakers
  • Check the class description for any additional supplies and/or equipment you may need to bring.

Nurse On Duty

 There will be a nurse on site during all sessions.

Acting Adventure - Ms. O'Connell
Grades 4-6
Do you love theater? Music? Fun characters? We will assign parts and put on a small performance at the end of the week!!
 
Adventures with Barbies - Mrs. Kelleher
Grades K-6
Come and enjoy a Barbie adventure with some friends. We will enjoy adventures including but not limited to, camping with Barbie, creating your own water park, bubbles with Barbie, learning how to do Barbie Bubble braids, and so much more. Bring your favorite Barbie and Barbie accessories. Come enjoy the numerous doll houses and set them up the way you wish. Let's have some Barbie fun!!!
 
American Girl Doll Camp - Ms. Lewis
Grades 2-6
Get ready for the most exciting, fun-filled week of the summer! Bring your favorite doll and step into a world of creativity, adventure, and imagination. From designing stylish outfits to crafting mini accessories, every day will be packed with hands-on activities, games, and surprises that you and your doll will LOVE!
Make new friends who share your passion, go on magical adventures together, and create unforgettable memories with your doll by your side. There will be laughter, creativity, and SO much fun you won’t want the week to end!
 
Baking Outside the Box - Mrs. Morse & Mrs. McKay
Grade K-6
Have fun while learning to Bake outside the Box.  We will be creating all different kinds of edible and non edible foods.  We will be making ice cream, pizza’s, playdough and many, many fun and creative treats.  The kids will also be learning to measure and how baking can also be a science.   Each day we will eat one of our delicious treats made by the creative hands and minds of the young chefs!  Please bring a snack, water bottle and a container to carry home your treats.
 
Candy Making Mania - Mrs. Malfy
Grades 4-6
Do you love Candy?  If you want to learn how to make different kinds of candy, this is the week for you!!  We will be making candy and of course eating it too!  I can’t wait to see all of you for a fun filled sweet week!
 
Daily Challenge - Mrs. Morris
Grade 1-3
Do you like to challenge your brain, body, and skills while having a little friendly competition? This is the class for you! Each day we will participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor challenges, such as solving riddles, Minute to Win It, scavenger hunts, Wordle, field day events, and more. Get your brain thinking and your body moving with a week packed full of fun! See you there!
 
Indoor and Outdoor Games - Mrs. Crawford & Mrs. Horne
Students entering K-2nd
Come one come all and join Mrs. Crawford and Mrs. Horne for a week of fun filled games. We will go back in time to the games we played as children. This week we will enjoy musical chairs, water balloons, squirt bottles, duck duck goose, relay races around the bus circle , obstacle courses and many more fun activities. In case of rain, we will enjoy some old fashioned games such as Go Fish, Candy Land, Memory, Uno, Jenga... Let's take a break from all this screen time to enjoy each other.
 
Karate - Ms. Ross
Grade 2-6
Learn the basics from a 3rd Degree Black belt in Kempo. You will learn conflict resolution skills, blocks, counter strikes, kicks,  katas ( traditional forms ), and combinations of moves to stay safe in all kinds of situations.  We will work on flexibility and strength.  We will read my favorite book " The Way of the Peaceful Warrior", learn to play a board game called Othello, and make Asian-themed crafts like an origami crane.  You will also learn how to count in Japanese. Self-control will be stressed.  If you've ever wanted to learn more about martial arts this is a perfect introduction. If you already have some skills, we can build on those too. Please wear comfortable clothing and sneakers.
 
Kindness Camp - Mrs. Hickey
Grade 1-4
Are you ready to spread kindness wherever you go? This week we will talk about ways to show kindness at school, home and within the community. We will paint and leave kindness rocks around the school grounds, create family kindness jars and make friendship bracelets. We will also participate in a variety of activities to help inspire you to be kind in your thoughts, words and actions.
 
Legoland - Ms. Woodall
Grade K-4
Do you love playing with Lego bricks?  Bring your friends and your imagination to our fun and adventure-filled summer session!  Each day of the week we will have a different LEGO theme.  All aspects of science, technology, engineering and art will be incorporated in the 4 day session.
 
Musical Favorites with Ms. Mariotti - Ms. Mariotti
Grade K-3
Do you have a favorite song or game that we have played in the music room?  If so, sign up for “Musical Favorites with Ms. Mariotti.”  We will sing songs, play instruments, dance and even go outside to play some favorite playground games.  Here are some things to look forward to:  “Doggie, Doggie”, "Who is in the Forest", "Charlie Over the Ocean", “Stella Ella Olla” and other hand clapping games, boomwhacker play-alongs, folk dancing and much more!
 
Perler Bead Fun - Mrs. Byrne
Grade 1-3
Do you like to make fun things with PERLER BEADS? Then this is the camp for you! Come make sea creatures ,flowers,animals,and many other fun things! Bring a water bottle, a snack and wear some sunscreen. We will go outside for games like drip drip drop and other fun games! On the last day we’ll have an ice cream party!
 
Pirates - Mrs. Doyle
Grade 1-3
Ahoy there, matey!  Do you have what it takes to be a pirate?  Then come join us!  We will have a fun-filled week of learning pirate lingo, designing your own treasure map, making a treasure chest to store loot, and earn some pirate gear.  Get ready for pirate stories, songs, games, and so much more!
 
Pokémon - Mrs. McGuire
Students entering 1st-6th
Join us for a fun-filled week of everything Pokémon. Do you have a favorite Pokémon?
Do you want to be a Pokémon trainer? Come and connect with fellow Pokémon fans.  Get creative designing your own character. We will do fun crafts and play games. Throughout the week we will spend time indoors and out. Wear your sunscreen,  bring a snack, and get ready to....Catch 'Em All!
 
Sports Combo - Mrs. Sachdev
Grade 2-6 
Join us for a week full of sports and fitness!  Get ready to play your favorite sports including soccer, basketball, kickball, wiffleball, and more!  We will have fun playing outside, cooling off with some water games, and doing some fitness activities indoors as well.  Come join the fun and wear sneakers and bring a water bottle.
 
Taylor Swift - Ms. Giossi and Mrs. Beltramini 
Grade 1-3
NEW activities, crafts, and games this summer!  If you joined us last year, join us again for brand new fun!  Are you in your Swiftie Era?  Who knew in your “Wildest Dreams” that you could have a Taylor Swift fun filled week?  “Long Story Short” we will be doing a lot of Taylor Swift crafts and games!  Some games you may know “All Too Well” like Bingo, Freeze Dance, Musical Chairs and more!  We will be very “Delicate” as we make friendship bracelets for one of our crafts.  You may be asking “Is it Over Now?”  We will also go outside to “Shake it Off” and play.  We are “Enchanted” to see you this summer to have a fun filled week with crafts, games and outdoor play!  Are you “....Ready for it?”  We are!
 
Under The Sea - Mrs. Fernandez
Grade Preschool - 2
Join me for a week of friendship and fun while we dive into ocean life. We will be creating marine art, reading ocean filled stories, enjoying water play and engaging in sensory activities. It's a whole new world as we explore the ocean together!

American Girl Camp - Mrs. Crabtree
Grade 2-6
Do you love American Girl Dolls? If so, then this class is for you! Come bring your American Girl doll for a week packed with fun. We will make crafts for you and your doll like face masks, iphones, and picture frames.  We will go on adventures with our dolls and spend some time reading American Girl stories.  We will end the week with an American Girl ice cream party! So, grab your doll and come join the American Girl Cub!
 
Christmas in July - Mrs. Bernier
Grade 1-2
Come celebrate Christmas (and Valentine’s , St Patrick’s and Halloween) in July Every day will be filled with holiday themed activities , like tie dye socks, holiday slime, scavenger hunts, costume day and so much more!!
 
Drawing Portraits with Expression - Ms. Ross
Grade 2-6
Complete 3 portraits over the course of the week. You will use mixed media to complete a self-portrait, a portrait of an animal, and a third of your choice.  You will learn how to use a grid and a projector to get proper proportions and how to exaggerate facial features to create a caricature. You will learn about a different artist every day, Please bring some pictures to use as references.
 
Indoor and Outdoor Games - Mrs. Crawford & Mrs. Horne
Grade PreK-3
Join Mrs. Crawford and Mrs. Horne for a week of fun-filled games and activities!  This week we will enjoy water balloons, musical chairs, baseball, squirt bottles, duck duck goose, relay races, obstacle courses, Lego Fun, and many more outdoor activities.  In case of rain, we will enjoy some good old fashioned board games such as Candy Land, Memory, Go Fish, Uno, and Jenga.  Let’s take a break from screen time and enjoy some games together!
 
Insane Science - Ms. Lewis
Grade 2-6
Just as Einstein said “Play is the highest form of research”, so in this class we will be doing fun and crazy science experiments and having fun at the same time! We will be learning about science by creating Lava Lamps, solar ovens, rock crystals and much more. On the last day we will do a fascinating experiment that will blow your mind!! So grab a friend and join this class for some INSANE SCIENCE!
 
Jumpstart to First Grade - Mrs. Buckley
Grade 1
Join Mrs. Buckley, a first grade teacher, and get ready for First grade! We will spend the week reviewing basic academic skills, practicing expected behavior and having fun with other soon-to-be First Graders! This week is a great opportunity to check out the first grade classrooms, hear about what first grade will be like and to practice sitting at a desk. We will also be making crafts and reading lots of great books. We hope you can join us for some First Grade fun!
 
Letterboxing and Water Play Fun - Mrs. Lynch
Grade 2-5
What could be more fun than finding a hidden treasure? Finding a hidden treasure and then running through a sprinkler and playing with water balloons, that's what!! Have fun, stay cool! Letterboxing is an intriguing mix of hiking, puzzle-solving, treasure hunting, and rubber stamping. Throughout the week we will spend time indoors and out. Each child will choose a code name, decorate a letterboxing bag and create a few unique rubber stamps. You get to take home all your supplies at the end of the week! We will hike the school grounds and Sweatt Hill areas in search of hidden treasures and end each day by cooling off with lots of water play fun!! On the last day, we will have a yummy "cool" treat! So grab your sneakers, a snack, your water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, a swimsuit & towel, water shoes and get ready to make some new friends and have lots of fun!!
 
Pirates - Mrs. Doyle
Grade 1-3

If you can't get to the beach...we will bring the beach to you! Dive into a fun filled week full of beach related crafts and games. We will be making creations with shells, designing sand art and even making SAND -DOH ...just to mention a few!! We will play some fun games like Beach Bingo, Drip Drip Drop, and Catch a Fish. Please bring a towel, snack and don't forget the sunscreen!
 
Book Club - Mrs. Morris
Grade 1-3
Do you love reading and listening to funny stories? Explore your favorite authors and learn about new ones, as we explore their books. Each day we will do crafts, play games, and make yummy treats centered around our favorite books! Come join the fun!

Kick Start to Seventh Grade: Book Club - Mrs. Marbenas
Grade 7
Spread out the beach towel, get the snacks ready and read a great book with friends. We will work on the required reading expectations throughout the week in order to set a good pace for completion. By reading and discussing a novel together you will be on your way to a successful start to 7th grade!

Ukuleles and More! - Ms. Mariotti 
Grade 2-6
Have you ever wanted to play the ukulele? Or enjoyed playing them during music class and want to learn more? Then sign up for “Ukuleles and More”. During our time together, you will learn all the basics of playing the ukulele (how to hold, tune, play various strumming patterns, chords and songs). We will also dip our toes into Hawaiian Culture and end our week with some outside luau theme fun. You will get a folder with everything you learned, so you can continue the ukulele craze at home. You do not need to own your own ukulele to take this class. We will have some for you to play during our class time.
 
Writers Workshop - Ms. Ross 
Grade 1-4
Any aspiring children's book authors and illustrators out there?
Practice character development and writing fun stories with problems and solutions.  Come with your ideas.  Leave with a finished product.  We will learn about a different author or illustrator every day.  The authors and illustrators we learn about will be student driven. ( your choice!)  We will start with Jeff Kinney and Chris Van Allsburg.
