October 20th, 2017

The end of October is here and we have been busy.

We have learned more letters and their sounds – c, o, a, g, d and s.

Our sight words now include: am, little, like, have, is, a, to, I and the. We have been discussing the difference between statements and questions when we write sentences.  Please continue practicing the sight words at home.

We have had some special guests this month.

Dr. Cameron, our Superintendent, read a Piggy and Gerald book (by Mo Willems) to our class. It was about friendship and including friends in our play! The children enjoyed this visit a lot.

We also had the Wrentham Fire Department give a presentation to all our Kindergarten classes, and they brought two fire trucks that we were able to look at and sit in.

Mrs. Keefe and I are teaming up again this year for Buddies. Every other Thursday we will meet up with our Second Grade Buddies to read, write or work on projects together. We have done this twice already and the children are all enjoying the experience.

Our Room Parents, Mrs. Aragao and Mrs. Franklin, will be coming into the room with some special Halloween activities for the children on Monday October 30th.

Some quick reminders:

  • Please have your child wear SNEAKERS every FRIDAY so they can participate in Gym Class.

  • Have a fun and safe night on Tuesday if you are participating in any Halloween festivities, but please do not send candy in for daily snacks.
