 CLASSROOM NEWSLETTER

April, 2018

I hope you all had a relaxing Spring Break. Hopefully the weather will warm up soon and we will be able to enjoy some added playtime outside.

This month the children enjoyed a visit from the Dental Hygienist and learned about foods that are good and bad for their teeth, as well as the importance of brushing and flossing.

We have started our All About Unit in Writers Workshop. The children are learning what it means to be an 'Expert' on a topic and how experts can use 'Fancy" words like metamorphosis, hibernation and marsupial.

Addition is continuing in Math. We will be starting simple subtraction and measurement in the coming weeks.

The children have been introduced to 5 Digraphs, Th, Wh, Sh, Ch, and Ck. This has expanded their word banks and they are enjoying putting together and sounding out more words as they write.

One classroom request to last us through the end of the year would be some more tissues please. If you happen to have a spare box at home that you could send in, we would appreciate it. Thanks.
